STRMLNK Files

  • Updated

Overview

A STRMLNK file is a versatile format which can be used to build a library of lightweight text files, each containing an HTTP link to a video title on an external service (such as Netflix, Apple TV+, YouTube, etc...). Adding these files to the Infuse library will allow browsing of both owned and streamed videos in a single place.

External videos would appear with an 'Open' button and clicking this will direct to you the specific 3rd party app for playback.

Usage

Create a normal text file and rename the .txt extension to .strmlnk. Then using a text editor application (like TextEdit on Mac or Notepad on Windows) enter the the direct URL link of the video file.

Examples

File name

Total-Recall-1990.strmlnk

File contents

https://tv.apple.com/movie/total-recall/umc.cmc.25btbyzkrdyo50inh72zp90cl

The naming style of the .strmlnk file should follow the recommended naming styles to ensure the appropriate movie or TV show details can be fetched from TMDB.
